Who we are
Beirut Contemporary Ballet (BCB) — is a Beirut-based dance company that produces cutting-edge creations for both stage and screen
Inspired by the success of award-winning dance film And So Do I, artistic director Jana G. Younes launched the company and have, since its inception, been continuously expanding its repertoire through dynamic collaborations on both local and global scales.
“Our vision is to establish a sanctuary for contemporary dance in Beirut and ignite a cultural revival that reaches international audiences.
Through artistic dialogues and strategic partnerships, we deliver innovative and impactful performances, blending meaningful narratives with exceptional esthetics and capturing the essence of movement in its purest, most artistic form.”
Mission
Beirut Contemporary Ballet is dedicated to redefining the art of dance through innovation, excellence, and inclusivity. Our mission is to create thought-provoking performances that challenge artistic boundaries, while nurturing young and established talent within our community. We aim to make dance accessible to all by offering specialized training workshops, fostering collaborations, and producing works that resonate on a global scale. Through initiatives like Project Bedrock, we empower dancers to grow and showcase their artistry, creating a lasting impact on the evolution of contemporary dance in the region and beyond.
Vision
To transform the landscape of contemporary dance by making it a universally accessible and innovative medium that bridges cultural divides and inspires human connection. At Beirut Contemporary Ballet, we envision a world where dance reflects the shared human experience, sparks meaningful conversations, and reaches audiences far and wide through compelling stage performances and groundbreaking dance films.
